OMEGA has finished filming. Now onto post-production! More to come…
2011 Adelaide Zombie Walk Doco
Morning all! TEAM NINOS and PHANTOM EARTH FILMS will be shooting the 2011 Adelaide Zombie on Saturday the 8th of October. Written as a documentary with a clever twist, the DEAD WALK is the directorial debut of Teena Ninos.
“Five years ago the zombie virus was unleashed to the world. Now, in commemoration of the outbreak the dead roam the streets of the Adelaide city to mark the anniversary of their second life.”
Our crew will be conducting interviews with as many ‘zombies’ as possible before the walk begins at Rymil Park. We’ll be filming the Walk itself as well as the after parties at Fowlers and other locales.
So if you’re gettin’ all zombied up and want to be interviewed look out for the TEAM NINOS film crews throughout the Walk.
Hope to see you and your braaaaaaaaaaains there!
Pete
An Introduction
Welcome to Phantom Earth! My name is Peter Ninos, I am currently living and working in the great Australian city of Adelaide, where I have lived most of my adult life.
The spark that lit my Film Making fuse burst into life in September of 1993. I was Eight years old and I was taken to see Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park” in the theaters. I was instantly spellbound, like many kids at that age I was already obsessed with Dinosaurs but this film took that subject and presented it in such a compelling way.
The impact Jurassic Park had on me was further compounded when I watched a Behind the Scenes TV Special shortly after the film was released. It ran for about thirty minutes but that’s all it took, I was so astounded by the technical aspects that went into making the film. The combination of animatronics and the then-new implementation of computer generated effects, came together to give the best of the old and the unlimited potential of the new.
It was the first time I had seen a film plus a look into how it was made. Since then I am constantly scouring DVD extras, TV specials, online videos – anything that showed what went on behind that camera.

Through all my years of schooling and work Film Making has always been in the back of my mind. In 2004 when I purchased a business and started working full time I had little time to make more then just very short experimental films.
Late in 2008 I decided it was time to throw myself into the world of Professional Film Making. I was still running a full time business but I began to devote what spare time I had to film concepts, story, practical effects – just trying to build up as much knowledge as I could. But there’s only so much you can learn from study, you need to get into the thick of things.
In 2009, my cousin Trent and I, began work on what would become our first attempt at a professional film. The film we titled “OMEGA” was written and developed over that year. With the help of the Media Resource Center (MRC) here in Adelaide we put a call out for volunteers to assist in the making of this short film. We had a great response and met cast and crew who would be invaluable to the project – we were very lucky to find these people!
“OMEGA” is nearing the end of Principle Photography and after four to six weeks of Post Production should be screened some time the second half of 2011.
The driving force behind Phantom Earth Films is a family affair -we have been nicknamed “Team Ninos”, which is kinda cool. All our projects will be a collaborative effort between myself, my sister Teena Ninos and my cousins Trent Ninos & Billy Ninos along with a large group of fellow film makers.
I am continually humbled by the good nature and work ethic from every individual who has offered their time and talent to “OMEGA”. Without their hard work there would be no movie, simple as that.
Thanks for your time, now let’s make some movies!
Pete
